Yazoo Co, MS (July 30, 2022) - Two children and a sheriff’s deputy sustained injuries during a pair of ATV accidents in Yazoo County on Friday, July 29th.
Yazoo County deputies and additional responders were called to the scene when two children were injured in an ATV rollover just outside of Satartia.
While trekking through the woods to access the accident scene, one of the deputies was also injured in a separate ATV accident.
The circumstances leading to either of the crashes remain entirely unknown.
Yazoo County first responders ferried all three injured parties out of the woods. From there, they were taken to area medical facilities for treatment. All injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

In order to recover compensation after an ATV accident, you will have to prove that the negligence of another party directly contributed to your injuries. This can be hard on your own, and many injured victims find themselves overwhelmed by the personal injury process.
Mississippi has laws requiring minors to pass an ATV safety course and always be supervised by an adult. Many parents and guardians, however, frequently disobey these laws intended to encourage the lawful and safe use of ATVs.
Countless young riders have been critically or even fatally injured when their ATV flipped or rolled over on them. The most common injuries caused by ATV rollovers are amputations and spinal cord damage.
