West Point, MS – Update: Two Identified After Truck Crash on US-45AMississippi Legal News
West Point, MS (October 11, 2019) – Around 2 p.m. yesterday, October 10, police responded to the scene of a truck crash involving a log truck and a pickup truck.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the collision, which took place on US-45 Alternate in Clay County. They found that 75-year-old Earl Whitley had been driving a 2008 Dodge Dakota and was traveling north. Suddenly, his pickup truck collided with the left side of a 2004 white International log truck.
The truck that he collided with was also traveling northbound and was driven by a man identified as 33-year-old Willie Logan.
Both vehicles spun out and came to a rest in the median. They both overturned.
Both drivers received moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to the Clay County Medical Center. The accident is still being investigated by MHP at this time.
