Waveland, MS (July 20, 2021) – A police officer was killed following a serious accident in the Waveland area on Sunday, July 18.
The incident was reported early that morning near the time of 3:03 a.m. Local sources revealed that 33-year-old Katie Cash was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle on MS-603 in Hancock County at the time of the crash. The car was headed northbound when it overturned near the intersection with Paradise Road.
Emergency responders were rushed to the scene to provide whatever aid possible to the involved parties. Cash sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Cash was reportedly a new graduate of the police academy.
