Vicksburg, MS – Two Critically Injured in Wreck on Warriors Trl

Vicksburg, MS (November 07, 2020) – Two people were seriously injured during a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday, November 4th on Warriors Trail.

An official from the Warren County Sheriff’s Department stated that the driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Tonny Wash, and his passenger, 37-year-old Jamie Dewan Williams, both residents of Vicksburg, are still hospitalized at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

It has been determined that speed was a major contributing factor to the crash.

Reports indicate that at about 5:30 p.m., emergency responders were called to the scene of a one-car accident in the 5200 block Warriors Trail. Upon their arrival, they discovered a totaled 2017 Nissan sedan up against a tree.

After extinguishing a flame that ignited in the Nissan’s engine compartment, officers were able to determine that the car crashed into two trees and one fence before it finally came to a stop.

First responders from the Vicksburg Fire Department, along with Culkin and Bovina County volunteer fire departments, were able to extricate a dog and the passenger from the vehicle fairly quickly, however, it took over an hour for the driver to be extricated.

Williams was transported via ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Wash was transported to Clear Creek Golf Course, and from there was airlifted to the same hospital. An English bulldog that also sustained injuries during the crash was taken to Animal Medical Clinic for immediate treatment.

Both men and the dog are currently in good condition and expected to recover.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
