Vicksburg, MS (August 14, 2022) - A school bus taking children home from Sherman Avenue Elementary School was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Monday, August 8th.
At about 4:00 p.m., police and emergency crews responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the 1600th block of Grove Street when a pick-up truck carrying corn crashed into the back of the school bus.
The driver of the pick-up sustained minor injuries during the impact but their vehicle was totaled.
Some of the children on the bus received non-critical injuries, including head injuries.
The area around the scene was closed while the roadway was cleared and an investigation was conducted.
Another bus arrived to take the remaining children home.
