Deadly Pedestrian Accidents in Mississippi
Pedestrians are more exposed to the dangers of the road, and despite an overall decrease in traffic deaths, pedestrian fatalities are on the rise in the United States. A pedestrian was killed every 88 minutes in 2017, contributing to 5,977 fatalities that year. Mississippi has one of the highest rates of pedestrian deaths in the nation, despite making up some of the lowest volumes of pedestrian traffic.
Mississippi wrongful death lawsuits are intended to compensate surviving family members when the negligent actions of another party cause the death of a loved one. Just because the victim died, that does not mean that the at-fault party should be off the hook. The defendant must instead pay compensation to the family members of the deceased after a deadly Mississippi pedestrian crash. This can only be accomplished by partnering with a law firm with years of experience helping victims pursue wrongful death claims.
