Hit-&-Run Accidents in Mississippi

Taylorsville, MS - Terry Oliver Critically Injured in Hit-&-Run on MS-529A hit-and-run accident can be incredibly distressing, and drivers who flee the scene of an accident are acting recklessly. In 2015, 737,100 hit-and-runs were recorded across the United States, implying that a driver left the scene of an accident every 43 seconds. In 2016, there were 2,049 fatalities reported in hit-and-run accidents, up nearly 60% from 2009. Pedestrians and cyclists are over-represented in fatal hit-and-run crashes due to their greater risk of being seriously injured in a collision and inability to pursue the assailant. Those injured in a pedestrian crash may be able to pursue lost compensation with the help of a Mississippi personal injury attorney.

When pedestrians collide with a vehicle, they are at a severe disadvantage and are far more likely to experience severe injuries, contributing to a greater pedestrian mortality rate. Pedestrians, unlike automobile passengers, are exposed to the entire force of a collision, which can result in fatal injuries. Many drivers fail to give pedestrians the right of way or obey traffic rules, resulting in deadly collisions. After being hit by a reckless driver, a Mississippi pedestrian injury attorney can help you seek financial compensation for your injuries.

Despite the fact that few individuals anticipate being badly hurt in a Mississippi pedestrian accident, thousands of pedestrians are killed each year around the country and seek assistance in getting legal compensation for their losses. Many persons who have been injured in an accident may not know how to seek compensation for their injuries, making filing a personal injury claim more challenging.
