Shannon, MS (May 22, 2020) – A man was struck by a vehicle along U.S. Highway 45 in Shannon on Thursday, May 21st, at around 5:59 p.m.
According to Mississippi State Troopers, a 54-year-old man from Enid was walking along the roadway, just south of Brewer Road, when he was hit by an SUV. Police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital. His injuries have been classified as moderate.
The driver of the SUV, a 17-year-old male from Nettleton, remained at the scene but there was no word on any charges. No further details have been reported.
The events that led to this incident are under investigation.
