Rankin Co, MS – Tamaria Shumake Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on MS-25Mississippi Legal News
Rankin Co, MS (February 25, 2021) – A woman and two children were killed following a deadly wrong-way collision in Rankin County on Wednesday, February 24.
The accident took place on MS-25 at around 11:30 p.m. that evening. For unknown reasons, 54-year-old Kyle T. Dixon of Jackson was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway in a 2004 Toyota Sequoia at the time of the deadly crash. Dixon collided head-on with a northbound 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser.
The driver of the Chrysler, 32-year-old Tamaria Shumake of Carthage, Mississippi, was killed in the crash, along with an 8-year-old and 5-year-old who were also in the vehicle. Two other passengers were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in serious condition. Dixon was taken to River Oaks Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is currently underway.
