Deadly High-Speed Accidents in Mississippi
Thousands of people are killed every year in high-speed car accidents. When a driver exceeds the legal speed limit, maintaining vehicle control becomes more difficult. Speeding-related collisions killed 9,378 people in Mississippi last year, accounting for nearly a quarter of all traffic deaths. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding has been linked to the deaths of roughly one-third of all motorists in the last two decades.
When a loved one dies as a result of another party's negligence, wrongful death lawsuits are filed with the goal of compensating the surviving family members. The fact that the victim died does not absolve the perpetrator of blame. Instead, the defendant is responsible for compensating the victim's family in the event of a fatal accident. Only an Oxford personal injury lawyer with experience representing wrongful death victims can assist you.
