Pedestrian Accidents in Oxford
In Mississippi, inattentive motorists are the principal cause of injury-causing and fatal accidents that involve pedestrians. People who are crossing a street at a lighted intersection or within a marked crosswalk have the legal right of way according to state law. Anytime a motorist is concentrated on something besides the road in front of them, pedestrians usually go unnoticed bringing about disastrous results.
A reliable Mississippi personal injury lawyer will help you develop a solid claim, make sure you know what your rights are, and ensure that the person responsible is held answerable for their negligence.
Drivers who are not paying attention to their surroundings are the main source of car crashes that involve pedestrian fatalities. Anytime a pedestrian is inside a marked crosswalk or has the light at an intersection they have the legal right of way. When a driver’s focus is on their phone, their stereo, their food, or their passenger instead of the road in front of them, they usually fail to heed pedestrians in or by the road in time to react properly.
In order to be awarded financial compensation after a car accident, you will need to show that the carelessness of another motorist directly contributed to your injuries. This can be tough to accomplish by yourself, and many crash victims find themselves overwhelmed by the legal process involved in a personal injury case.
