Auto Accidents in Mississippi
Mississippi is recognized as one of the most hazardous states in the United States to drive because of its continuously high rate of car deaths. According to government statistics, about 22% of drivers in the state do not use a seatbelt when driving. Two of the most major variables in fatal and severe accidents are speeding and driver inattention. Drunk driving is a significant contributing factor to deadly crashes in the state and is involved in nearly 30% of annual traffic fatalities in Mississippi.
Victims of a Mississippi vehicle accident caused by another person’s negligence or recklessness may be entitled to compensation for their losses, and the one responsible for the accident should be held accountable. The fact that Mississippi motorists are required to drive with reasonable caution and follow the state’s traffic rules does not stop many of them from driving recklessly and inflicting injury or death to themselves and others on a daily basis. When a motorist fails to act reasonably behind the wheel, this is considered negligence.
Mississippi injury victims who submit a claim for damages such as medical expenses, lost income, and pain and suffering may be eligible to get compensation for their losses.
