Natchez Trace, MS (December 19, 2020) – An accident between two vehicles took place on Thursday, December 17th in Chickasaw County that killed a woman from Texas.
The accident took place along Highway 8, near Natchez Trace.
State troopers reported that a vehicle being driven by Wilson Parker, 49, was backing out of a driveway moments prior to the crash when it was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Melvin Jackson, 62, a resident of Aberdeen.
One of the passengers in Parker’s car, Mabeline Vance, 52, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Parker and Mattie Baskins, 72, both sustained injuries during the impact.
Jackson was unharmed.
This accident is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
