Head-On Crashes in Mississippi

Moss Point, MS - All Lanes Closed After Injury Accident on MS-613 at Beechnut Ln

A head-on collision, also called a front-end collision, is a kind of car accident where the front ends of vehicles that are driving in opposite directions collide. In many cases, the cause of a head-on crash is that one of the involved drivers was traveling on the wrong side of the highway. Other common causes of frontal accidents range from drivers who are under the influence to mechanical issues with the car.

While every type of auto collision is able to produce serious victim injuries, and, in a lot of cases, death, studied data indicates that head-on crashes are exceptionally dangerous. The Institute for Highway Safety reported that, in 2017, the occupants of vehicles involved in head-on accidents had a total fatality rate of nearly 60%.
