Deadly Semi-Truck Accidents in Mississippi
Many Mississippi drivers are hesitant to drive behind large trucks because they are aware of the amount of damage these vehicles can inflict in the event of an accident. The majority of freight in the United States is transported by commercial vehicles. Passengers in smaller cars are at risk due to the sheer size of these vehicles. In truck accidents, those traveling in passenger vehicles are more likely to sustain life-threatening injuries. Each year, approximately 500,000 semi-truck collisions are reported in the United States, resulting in thousands of deaths.
When the negligence of another person results in the loss of a loved one, it is natural that surviving family members would want to seek justice. The recovery process starts by filing a wrongful death claim for due compensation. A wrongful death lawsuit could give them the financial compensation needed to cover funeral expenses and burial costs, medical expenses, mental suffering, and other damages related to a deadly accident. Wrongful death claims involve many complicated laws, including strict statutes of limitations and rules regarding who can file, so it helps to have the help of a qualified team of Meridian truck accident lawyers on your side.
