Laurel, MS – Serious Injuries Caused by Accident on MS-15

Laurel, MS (November 08, 2020) – On Saturday, November 7th, volunteer fire departments from Sharon and Shady Grove were dispatched to the scene of a two-car accident at the intersection of Trace Road and State Route 15.

According to police statements, a woman driving a Kia Sportage sustained non-life-threatening injuries when she was involved in an accident as she attempted to cross the highway at Trace Road.

Based on eyewitness reports, a four-door sedan was traveling southbound on SR-15 at a high rate of speed when it clipped the Kia as it tried to cross. Eyewitnesses also stated that the two occupants of the sedan escaped the crash site on foot.

Emserv Ambulance Service and the Mississippi Highway Patrol were also at the crash site. Emserv transported the Kia’s driver to a nearby medical facility with injuries that were considered serious, but non-life-threatening.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
