Lamar Co, MS – Charles Hemby and Christy Wilkes Killed in Crash Near Hess DrMississippi Legal News
Lamar Co, MS (June 05, 2021) – Two people died on Friday, June 4th when two pick-up trucks collided with one another in Lamar County.
Troopers from the Mississippi Highway Patrol reported to the scene at about 2:45 p.m. in the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 11, in the area of Hess Drive.
Reports show that Charles Hemby, a resident of Purvis, was heading southbound on U.S. Highway 11 when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, his Chevrolet pick-up truck veered into oncoming traffic. The pick-up then struck another truck driven by Christy Wilkes, also from Purvis.
Both Wilkes and Hemby were pronounced dead at the scene.
This accident is under investigation.
