Jackson, MS (March 1, 2021) – The identity of the woman killed in a fatal apartment fire in Jackson on Friday, February 26, has been released.
According to reports from authorities, 23-year-old Fredrica Walker and two of her children were killed following a fire at the Pine Ridge Garden Apartments. A third child was transported to a medical facility in critical condition. Officials from the Jackson Fire Department were called to the site of the blaze at around 8:22 a.m. that morning.
Walker was found dead along with her infant when firefighters entered the building. The remaining two children were initially found alive. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures on both children who were taken to a hospital for treatment. One of them was later pronounced dead.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly fire is underway.
