High-Speed Crashes in Mississippi
Speeding is a common habit that is a primary contributor to serious collisions across the country. Thousands of people are killed each year in high-speed collisions, and speeding has been involved in nearly one-third of deadly collisions over the past twenty years. In 2018, a total of 9,378 people were killed by speeding drivers, accounting for around 26% of deadly collisions that year. When drivers speed, they are more likely to lose control of their vehicles, and the distance required to come to a full stop is increased significantly.
