Jackson, MS (April 8, 2020) – One man was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash that took place on Tuesday night, April 7th. The fatal collision was reported at around 8:30 p.m. on West Capitol Street in the city of Jackson.

According to officials, James Smith Jr., 24, was the passenger in a car that was traveling along the roadway when the vehicle crashed. Emergency crews arrived at the scene where Smith was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of this accident.
