Itawamba Co, MS (September 14, 2019) – A Mississippi Department of Transportation construction manager died in an accident that involved a semi-truck in Itawamba County.
As reported by MDOT, the accident that took place on Wednesday, September 11th involved a tractor-trailer and occurred about a mile east of the weigh scale on westbound Interstate 22.
The victim, who has been identified as Jeff Boren, was employed with the Tupelo Project Office since January 1992.
A statement given by an MDOT executive highlights the irony of Boren working for MDOT for almost 30 years managing construction projects “designed to make the highways safer for Mississippi drivers.”
No information is currently available on the truck driver.
The accident is still under investigation at this time.
