Houston, MS – Three Injured When Car Crashes into Front Yard on Jefferson StMississippi Legal News
Houston, MS (September 19, 2020) – A woman and her two daughters were injured by a speeding driver while standing in a driveway on Jefferson Street on Friday, September 18th.
According to a report from a local news source, Sherita Gaydee and her one-year-old and four-year-old daughters were leaving the house of a family member when a car traveling at an excessive rate of speed swerved off the roadway, drove through the front yard, and struck the side of the Chevrolet Tahoe that was parked in the driveway.
The force of the impact pushed the Tahoe into the family, who was standing on the opposite side of the vehicle, preparing to get in. Gaydee said the vehicle hit her left side, knocking her to the ground and causing her to slide.
The injuries sustained by her two young daughters were much more serious, including a broken leg and a head laceration that required stitches. The driver of the speeding vehicle fled the scene of the accident.
This incident is currently under police investigation.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
