Hattiesburg, MS – Update: Debra Harper-Lancaster Dies in Main St Fire

Hattiesburg, MS (October 5, 2021) – Local authorities have identified the woman who was killed in a fire in Hattiesburg on Saturday, October 2. 

Later reports revealed that 64-year-old Debra Harper-Lancaster died in the blaze. The incident occurred at a residence located at the 1400 block of Main Street. Firefighters were called to the scene early that morning at around 2:45 a.m. 

The house was completely engulfed in flames when emergency responders arrived. One person was able to escape the home. Harper-Lancaster was found dead inside the structure. No further updates on the incident have been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly fire is being managed by local officials.
