Mississippi High-Speed Collisions
Every year, tens of thousands of people are killed in high-speed collisions. When a motorist speeds, maintaining vehicle control becomes more difficult. In 2018, 9,378 people died as a result of speeding. Each year, a quarter of all traffic deaths in Mississippi are caused by fast drivers. When a car crashes into someone at a fast speed, the victim is more likely to get catastrophic injuries. Speeding has been linked to the deaths of about one-third of all motorists in the last two decades, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
