Fatal Trucking Crashes in Mississippi
Commuter trucks transport the vast bulk of freight in the United States, and these massive vehicles can represent a significant threat to passengers in passenger automobiles. When a car accident occurs, occupants in smaller cars are more likely to have life-threatening injuries, as evidenced by national accident data on the subject. Every year, over 500,000 trucking accidents are reported, responsible for thousands of fatalities and thousands of injuries. A tractor-trailer or semi-truck collision results in the death or serious injury of someone around every 15 seconds. Around 67% of fatal semi-truck incidents involved victims driving in their own personal vehicles in 2019.
