Gulfport, MS – Cynthia Burges Killed in Collision on Cowan-Lorraine Rd

Gulfport, MS (May 15, 2021) – The woman who was killed during a two-car accident on Wednesday, May 12th has been identified as 58-year-old Cynthia Burges, a resident of Vancleave. 

Sources reported that Burges was driving northbound on Cowan-Lorraine Road when she attempted to make a lefthand turn onto Carl Legett Road and was hit by a southbound car.

Burges was pronounced dead on the scene due to blunt force trauma.

The driver of the striking car, a male, was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Driver impairment is not a factor in this accident.
