Byram, MS (September 15, 2020) – A 23-year-old woman was reportedly killed after being involved in a hit-and-run accident in the Byram area on Sunday, September 13. 

According to reports from the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Interstate 55 and Mendell Davis Drive. Emergency responders and law enforcement officials were called to the site of the crash after being notified of a body lying on the road. 

According to local sources, 23-year-old Raven Coffey was walking on the roadway when she was struck by a motor vehicle. At the time of the accident, Coffey was reportedly experiencing vehicle issues and had pulled over on the highway to seek help. 

The driver who fatally struck Coffey fled the scene. At this time, no information on the identity or type of vehicle involved in the crash has been provided.
