Abbeville, MS – Update: 1 Dead in Morning Wreck on Hwy 7Mississippi Legal News
Abbeville, MS (October 06, 2019) – A man from Lafayette County is dead following a wreck that happened on Highway 7 near Abbeville on Thursday, October 3rd.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported to the crash scene just before 10:00 a.m.
According to a police report, a 2019 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Karen G. Allison of Oxford and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Creekmore B. Wright III of Oxford were both heading northbound on Highway 7 when a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by Jeremy Andrew Lovelace, 32, of Oxford heading in the opposite direction crossed over the centerline and struck the two other cars.
Lovelace was pronounced dead at the scene.
Allison and Wright and another passenger were transported to a nearby medical facility with injuries that were classified as moderate.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
